Dubbed Bill Bensley’s greatest challenge – Congo Conservation Company – an extraordinary safari camp in the heart of Africa is set to open in the early months of 2025. This series of camps and lodges will be nestled in the deep wilderness of Congo, home to an untouched ecosystem. Given Bensley’s deep passion for wildlife conservation and sustainable hospitality, this project is set to enable the continued preservation and study of the area, while allowing a controlled number of visitors to experience its beauty respectfully. Summing up his vision for the project, Bensley calls it “an adult playground in which to release your inner child, home to thousands and thousands of happy gorillas.”
Bensley joins hands with Sabine Plattner and the Wildlife Conservation Society, embarking on this adventure across two national parks of the Republic of Congo, offering guests a series of unique journeys. From elephants to gorillas, the rare bongo to tiger fish, these parks are home to a number of fascinating creatures. The multimillion-dollar Congo Conservation Company project includes the renovation of three existing camps and lodges, and the creation of two to three more, all following Bensley’s principles of “minimal intervention”.
