The Nuances Of Cross-Country Design With Pallavi Dean

Pallavi Dean is the founder and creative director of interior design studio Roar. Born in India, raised in Dubai, and working in London for years has lent a unique multicultural influence to Pallavi’s designs. A trained architect and sustainability specialist, Pallavi has won multiple awards across a range of sectors. In 2013, Pallavi launched Pallavi Dean Interiors, which was rebranded as Roar in 2018. Pallavi has been recognised by Global Media as an emerging designer to watch out for, and her work has been profiled in some of the world’s leading international publications.

Here are a few things we discuss with her –
From a cultural perspective, what are the subtle differences between interior design styles across countries?
What are some common barriers that designers face when taking on international projects, and how can they overcome them?
What should designers and architects keep in mind when sourcing for international projects?

“Whether you’re working in Dubai, or London, or Tanzania – as a designer, your fundamental role is to create a vessel for human experiences to come forth”
– Pallavi Dean
