elisa strozyk – wood weaver

The essence of design is too create something that can change a part of our living. That is exactly what Elisa Strozyk is creating. She is turning wood into a textile. A very different approach to the material that is usually used only for solid objects with virtually no fluidity.
As she explains “the world around us is becoming immaterial, with all the way we have to communicate with people, by mail, messages, call, using internet to live, buy, get information of the world: a society of pictures and waves. The place for printed and matters is becoming tiny, but making it luxury and precious. ” ” Giving importance to surafces that are desirable to touch and can reconnect us with material world and enhance the emotional value of an object.”
Born in Berlin and studied at prominent art colleges – ENSAD (Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs) in Paris and KHB (Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee) in Berlin, before she received her masters in Future Textile Design from London Central Saint Martins in 2009.
Her work only displays the passion and creativity she has within her. We look forward to this young 28 year old giving the world alot more ahead.
