To the 33rd edition this talk focuses on how design may contribute towards happiness and presents and exploration into the association of neighborhood design with happiness, particularly referring to outdoor shared spaces. With its key speaker, Tina Pujara join the talk show for starting the process of discovering a more socially relevant architecture.

The talk will include the screening of a 26 minute video film titled ‘HAPPINESS by Design?’ conceptualized, produced and directed by the speaker.

In the wake of the King of Bhutan coining the term ‘Gross National Happiness’ – and several Happiness Indices, consequently, being developed by experts across the world- ensuring happiness in the lives of common people is increasingly becoming an important priority for civic authorities.

The Architecture & Society Talk Series is a monthly public forum held at the India Habitat Centre that seeks to bring Architecture to the general public. Bridging the gap between the public and the intelligentsia, A&S is Greha’s attempt to conceptualize and create a better built future. Greha is a society for research on environmental development, habitat design and architecture.
