Art Dubai is the Middle East’s leading international art fair that takes place every March in Dubai, UAE. It has been a major catalyst in local, regional and international conversations on art from the Middle East and the surrounding regions of North Africa and South Asia, putting art from these territories on the global map. The fair engages in rich cultural heritage and contemporary art practices through presentations across its gallery sections. Art Dubai has also been a launch pad for various artists, curators and art professionals, and continues to promote art excellence through its fair programming and initiatives.

The fair will run across three sections: Art Dubai Contemporary, Art Dubai Modern and Bawwaba. Art Dubai Contemporary showcases galleries from around the world, ranging from emerging art scenes to established centres, presenting solo or group shows and offering new global perspectives to help cultivate a culture of discovery. Art Dubai Modern is a one of a kind platform, focusing on Modern art from the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. The section will focus on solo shows dedicated to a particular period or thematic dialogue and feature artists working between the 1950s and 1990s whose works are retrospectively playing a key role in today’s artistic landscape. Bawwaba, meaning gateway in Arabic, serves as a portal to discovery of works created in the past year or specifically for the fair, offering visitors a curated reading of current artistic developments across wide geographical scopes across “The Global South”, via ambitious solo artist presentations.
