VIENNA DESIGN WEEK returns from September 25 to October 4, 2026, marking its 20th edition as one of Europe’s leading platforms for contemporary design. Established and curated by Festival Director Gabriel Roland and his team, the anniversary edition builds on nearly two decades of positioning design as a cultural, social, and economic force within the city and beyond. With its anniversary edition, VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2026 reaffirms its role as a key moment on the European design calendar—positioning Vienna as a city where design operates across culture, economy, and public life, and where future-facing ideas are tested, debated, and experienced.

The festival headquarters once again serves as a central hub, hosting exhibitions, workshops, information points, and social spaces, while newly defined programme zones extend activity from the city centre to western Vienna. These zones anchor curated formats, special commissions, and site-specific installations, reinforcing the city-wide nature of the festival and its engagement with neighbourhoods, industries, and audiences.
