Once a niche pastime, padel has swiftly emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing racket sports, driven by its social format, easy learning curve, and broad appeal across age groups. Originating in Mexico in 1969, the sport has found renewed relevance today as people seek inclusive, experience-led sports that are as much about community as competition.
Building on this momentum, Lacoste is extending its sporting legacy into new terrain—quite literally—through a partnership with Courchevel that introduces padel to one of Europe’s most recognised alpine destinations. The French resort has become home to Club Lacoste Courchevel, with two newly unveiled padel courts set against the snow-covered peaks of the French Alps. Located at the foot of the Émile Allais Slalom stadium and facing the INEOS Club House, the courts occupy a dramatic vantage point, pairing high-altitude sport with a carefully considered visual identity. This new facility for the fastest-growing racket sport reinforces Courchevel’s ambition to operate as a four-season destination for residents, travellers, experienced athletes, and those who are simply curious.Â

Padel Amid Snow-covered Mountains
Designed by Courchevel Tourisme with the support of the Club des Sports and the Town Hall, and in collaboration with Lacoste, the project reflects a broader effort to expand the resort’s athletic offerings beyond skiing. The courts feature clean lines and panoramic mountain views, and the focus is on comfort, clarity, and a sense of calm, turning a game into a well-rounded experience. Their bold green surfaces stand out against the winter landscape, offering a striking counterpoint to Courchevel’s white terrain while remaining quietly branded in a way that aligns with the resort’s premium character. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., the courts can be accessed throughout the day or evening and may also be privatized via the Courchevel Sports Club.Â

Sustainability Meets Design
The courts have been engineered to withstand Courchevel’s demanding climate by Infinite Sport and its subsidiary, Infinite Padel Courts—an American company specialising in padel court construction and leisure infrastructure. A heated slab powered by an eco-conscious geothermal system ensures year-round play while limiting energy consumption, addressing the growing need for sustainable facility management in high-altitude environments. As mountain resorts navigate the pressures of climate variability and seasonal dependency, installations such as Club Lacoste Courchevel signal a shift toward adaptable, all-weather sporting models where design, performance, and long-term responsibility intersect.

An Iconic Partnership
For Lacoste, the initiative marks a significant milestone. While the brand has long been associated with tennis and golf, this is its first official entry into the world of padel—a sport that has rapidly evolved from niche pastime to global phenomenon. Beyond lending its name to the padel facility, the crocodile brand will also unveil a Courchevel x Lacoste co-branded clothing collection, available at the Club des Sports boutique and through select professional partners. Adding to the experience, an exclusive Lacoste corner will soon open inside the INEOS restaurant, offering visitors a curated immersion into the brand’s universe.Â
Together, the courts and the collaborations reflect a thoughtful convergence of sport, design, and lifestyle at Courchevel.
