French luxury fashion label Jacquemus forays into interior design, showcasing its first-ever furniture collection at Milan Design Week. In collaboration with Italian furniture brand Exteta, the collection comprises a set of four outdoor pieces. Both brands partnered to launch a special re-edition of the trailblazing Italian architect Gae Aulenti’s renowned Locus Solus collection. Taking inspiration from Aulenti’s 1960s pop production and combining strong lines with vintage charm, the collection reflects the colourful whimsy often found in Jacquemus’ sartorial creations.

“I’m a great fan of designer chairs and I have collected Gae Aulenti vintage chairs for many years, ever since I saw them in the movie “La Piscine” by Jacques Deray.

Design, architecture, and arts have always had a deep impact on Jacquemus. “This collaboration with Exteta came naturally and spontaneously. I have always dreamed of developing a furniture line,” says founder Simon Porte Jacquemus. “I’m a great fan of designer chairs and I have collected Gae Aulenti vintage chairs for many years, ever since I saw them in the movie “La Piscine” by Jacques Deray. I wanted to add a Jacquemus touch to the chair, with a yellow striped fabric inspired by 80’s beach mattresses and umbrellas.”

The Locus Solus collection will be available in an off-white structure, including cushioned pieces with two different textile finishes: a yellow-striped version and a beige fabric with contrasting hand-sewn stitching. With this collaboration, Jacquemus joins the long list of fashion houses that have ventured into the interior space, pursuing untapped avenues for revenue growth by expanding into diverse categories.

The collection is now available on the Jacquemus website and at its store on Avenue Montaigne in Paris.
