Parallel’s Newest Experience Centre Blurs Boundaries Between Inside And Out

Parallel’s nouveau 4,500 sq. ft. experience centre in Delhi reimagines doors and windows as sensory portals—merging form with function, and a choreographed rhythm of space and light.

In design, doors and windows have long been more than mere thresholds. They are the unnoticed portals which blur the boundaries while inviting light, air, and nature into our built lives. Maintaining this stillness in an otherwise frenetic pace of living, Parallel Doors and Windows unveils its new flagship experience centre in the heart of Delhi. Amidst the humdrum of Delhi’s vibrant assemblies, their 4,500 sq. ft. spatial narrative is wrapped in a palette of quiet sophistication, clean geometry, and tactile warmth that mirrors Parallel’s distinct design ethos. With this thoughtful design shift, the brand invites lingering attention, encouraging viewers to engage in an immersive dialogue with nature that seamlessly blurs the line between indoors and outdoors.

A Legacy Of Trailblazing Craftsmanship

Renowned for its sleek, meticulously engineered systems and a deeply collaborative approach with architects and designers, Parallel, helmed by Co-Founders Sanjay Gupta and Ramneet Kalra, has long operated at the intersection of technical mastery. With over 25 years of design-led ingenuity rooted in a family-run legacy, the practice evolved into Parallel just a year ago, refining its identity while continuing to narrate design tales of the space in between. The brand seamlessly fuses German engineering precision with Indian sensitivity to climate and craftsmanship, curating a portfolio that spans from sliding systems and pivot doors to bespoke curtain walls and full-height glazing. With a focus on aesthetics, security, and sustainability, every window and door is guided by a commitment to longevity and eco-conscious innovation.

Within this store, often-overlooked elements like doors and windows take centre stage, guiding the rhythm of daily transitions and inviting us to see space as a performance—one that channels breezes and highlights sunbeams. Within this store, Gupta’s reverence for materials is palpable in every nook—from the warmth of suede and the gleam of metallic surfaces to the grounding stone and the translucence of glass. Each element whispers of a feeling that is synonymous with ‘home.’ Meanwhile, Kalra’s belief in the power of parallel lines as symbols of balance is evident in every detail, manifesting in an immersive environment that listens to light, texture, and form.

A Portal To Seamless Spaces

The 2,500 sq. ft. interior space has been divided into fluid zones—from the internal partition display, the glass-clad shower sanctuary, to the kitchen–wardrobe gallery. Upon stepping through the threshold, at the store’s heart lies a 1,200 sq. ft. display on an internal partition—a masterclass on modern living and its ability to mingle with airy openness and sculpted intimacy. Moving further into the store, a shower enclosure area clad in sleek glass paired with hardware materialises, sprawling across 400 sq. ft., transforming a walk-in shower zone’s mundane functional character into a sybaritic sanctuary. The crafted glass systems pay homage to contemporary living, where wellness, utility, and style collude to ensure that even the smallest ritual—stepping into a shower—feels serene.

Continuing into the store, beyond a sliding door, a 1,000 sq. ft. kitchen-and-wardrobe fragment echoes Parallel’s design prowess that vaults over window sills to reinvent how we cook, store, and eat in our daily lives. Here, clean lines tell tales of the minimalistic and functional approach of the pieces, while the wardrobes stand tall like monoliths in a gallery called home. The modular kitchens are perfectly attuned to the rhythms of contemporary urban life while ensuring functionality has a touch of aesthetics.

A Masterclass In Tech Innovation

True to its ethos of blending craftsmanship with innovation, the store features 3d holograms, augmented reality stations, and immersive displays at various junctures. These elements merge tactility with virtual imagination, where designers and homeowners can dream of their environments. A highlight of the experience takes shape at an immersive table, where a sliding panel reveals multifarious glass opacities, while a virtual assistant offers concurrent configuration, melding technological ingenuity with design craft. At the very end of the expansive store, a material room aptly monikered the ‘designer room’ transpires, fostering creativity with an invitation to pause, engage with textures, and test concepts in a hands-on environment
