The luxury hospitality company Aman is set to launch its third destination in the United States with the highly anticipated Aman New York that will open its doors in August 2022. The culmination of a major transformation of the iconic Crown Building in Manhattan, the 83-suite hotel and its 22 branded residences usher in a new era for hospitality in the Big Apple. This is Aman’s second-ever outpost in an urban setting, the first of which was Aman Tokyo. “Following the success of the multi-award-winning Aman Tokyo, our strategy to bring the coveted Aman lifestyle to urban destinations continues apace. A milestone opening, Aman New York marks our greatest investment into a single destination to date. The hotel introduces an entirely new concept to the city through expansive and unmatched amenities, which propels the brand forward, delivering a guest experience like no other,” says Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman.

Built in 1921, the Crown Building underwent a significant restoration ahead of the opening, combining its original architectural splendour with Aman’s harmonious design language. On entering Aman New York, designed by Jean Michel Gathy of Denniston, guests ascend to the hotel’s 14th floor, where a grand double-height atrium instantly brings forth a feeling of luxury. The restaurants include Arva, Aman’s convivial Italian restaurant, and Nama, Aman’s interpretation of Japan’s washoku dining tradition, amongst other culinary offerings. The hotel is designed to appeal to both business or leisure guests, and its suites are among New York’s largest, inspired by the expansive architecture of Aman’s properties in Southeast Asia. The property pays homage to the company’s roots in several ways; each suite features a large-scale mural by contemporary Japanese artist Ryoko Adachi, inspired by the 15th-century masterpiece Pine Trees (Shōrin-zu byōbu) by Hasegawa Tōhaku.

Next in the pipeline for Aman’s expansion in the USA, Aman Miami Beach is set to open in the year 2024.
