Homo Faber 2026: An Island of Light opens on 1st September till 30th September at San Giorgio Maggiore Island in Venice. The fourth edition of the biennial, curated by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship and conceived by Es Devlin, brings together hundreds of makers across 15 immersive installations, including 30 Indian craft artists and ateliers, presented with the support of JSW Foundation. 

The theme chosen for the fourth edition of Homo Faber Biennial, An Island of Light, perfectly represents the ethos that underpins our actions: to give visibility to the artisans, to shed light on their talent, and to inspire a new generation of makers. The Indian makers are represented across the exhibition alongside creators from around the world, bringing Indian craftsmanship into a broader global dialogue on contemporary art, design and making. Among them is Vikram Goyal, who presents a selection of works from the Bagh collection, a body of work inspired by the serene geometry of India’s historic gardens, where water, flora and architecture exist in quiet harmony.
