sā Ladakh Biennale 2026’s second edition takes place across the landscapes of Ladakh, unfolding at elevations above 3,000 metres along the Leh–Kargil corridor, India. Conceived under the theme ‘Signals from Another Star’ as a non-white cube biennale, it situates contemporary artistic practice within ecological, cultural, and social terrains rather than fixed exhibition spaces. Founded in 2023, the biennale foregrounds regeneration, learning, and ethical engagement, attuning artists and audiences to land, memory, climate, and lived experience.

It evolves as a long-term cultural initiative rooted in collaboration, regional partnerships, and sustained learning, with an emphasis on zero-to-minimal-footprint artistic practice in one of the world’s most ecologically sensitive regions. It brings together artists from Ladakh and international contexts in equal measure, fostering exchange between local knowledge systems and global contemporary practice.
