With the idea to celebrate the amazing work the architect and interior design community is doing in the sustainability and conservation spaces, Godrej Locks and Architectural Fittings launched the prestigious GeeVees Awards, in 2021. During the pandemic, the event was held virtually but 2023 saw GeeVees celebrating the conscious community with great enthusiasm! The awards night was organized and held in Goa on the 11th of March 2023, and saw an influx of 1000+ entries which were all based on the theme of ‘Conscious Design’. Design Pataki got exclusive access to not just this event but even got an opportunity to tour the Godrej Locks factory in Madkai, Goa.

Design Pataki got an exclusive opportunity to visit the Godrej Locks factory in the town of Madkai, Goa to see the way innovation and technology are shaping their processes and helping to create a greener, safer, more convenient world for their consumers. We tested the products and loved the fact that a household name like Godrej; a trusted brand for over 125 years, is keeping an ear to the ground and understanding what its consumers want to see in the products they use. As an interior design expert and writer, being invited for the prestigious GeeVees award, and being amongst the best in the industry was an incredible experience. It is truly remarkable how the brand is continuing with its legacy while adapting to the desires of the new generation of consumers.

With innovation, technology and sustainability at the helm of their processes, Godrej is a front-runner in the world of innovative and future-forward locks and architectural fittings. Being invited to the factory and being able to see the processes first-hand gave us great insight into the focus, and dedication to the promise of “good and green products” the business is truly delivering.

The spectacular ceremony commemorated the 39 winners across 13 categories, on the theme of ‘Conscious Design’. Each entry showcased the very best in innovation, sustainability, design and functionality. A distinguished panel of sixteen esteemed jury members including celebrated names in the design fraternity like Palinda Kannangara, Vivek Gupta, Shantanu Poredi , Rohit Raj Puniani, Anupam Mittal and others.

Mr. Motwani continues, “It truly was a season of celebrating innovative thinking and sustainability. Each category is carefully chosen and every jury member has been our partner to identify the talent across India when it comes to mindful and conscious design.

The event and award ceremony sought to encourage, inspire, motivate and celebrate the efforts of the AID community in adopting a “green” approach to design.

“The Architecture and Design community have been an integral part of our business and this platform allows us an opportunity to acknowledge their support over the years. With GEEVEES, we further aim to inspire the architectural and design communities, as well as collaborate with like-minded experts, to create designs that have a beneficial impact on our society.”, says Mr Motwani.
