Goa, a unique blend of Indian and Portuguese culture has always found it’s identity through its nightlife, beaches and it’s seafood. The depth of its heart and the culture diaspora has somehow managed to fade into the background and overpowered by the spirit of ‘Feni’ and it’s popular music festivals with an abundance of people from around the world in attendance. This year, however, the Serendipity Arts Festival is all set to return to Goa in its beautiful capital of Panaji (Panjim) on the banks of the River Mandovi from the 15th to 25th of December to re-install the spirit of Goa’s culture with a blend of visual, performing and culinary arts. It has been curated by a panel of artists and various institutional figures. It is a step towards raising awareness about cultural and local art and their vision is to address issues such as arts education, patronage culture and interdisciplinary discourse through this platform. The festival will see some prominent figures giving their own personal touch to the various elements of the festival and making it memorable for all those in attendance!
