In today’s fast-paced world, quality sleep has become one of the most valuable investments people make in their health and well-being. Inspired by designing better sleep for India, Mumbai-based Foam Home has persistently refined its craft while embodying its core values and building a legacy. In commemoration of its 50th anniversary, Foam Home is evolving with a new identity that reflects not just the brand’s vision, but everything it has learned along the way. Revisioned as Circadia, it focuses on engineering mattresses that allow the body to rest and revitalise. This homegrown brand, which started as a local workshop, has evolved into a premier mattress and sleep-tech innovator, celebrating years of experimentation and ownership of its authentic craft.
Brand Journey
For nearly five decades, Foam Home has approached sleep as an art of understanding. Founded in 1976 by Huseni Bhanpurawala and Aijaz Bhanpurawala on the belief that a mattress is an important everyday object, the family-run company has built its legacy around craftsmanship, material intelligence and an instinct to look beyond convention. Today, that philosophy enters a new chapter with Circadia, a brand shaped by the same enduring values and a comprehensive contemporary understanding of sleep and wellbeing. Sabina Bhanourwala, the second generation, leads this legacy, with a belief that “Comfort is not softness. It is support.” Inspired by the body’s circadian rhythm—the natural cycle that governs our sleep and waking hours—Circadia views the mattress not simply as a piece of furniture, but as an integral part of how we live, recover and restore.

Her carrying forward the family legacy is as much about preserving its values as it is about questioning them. “Why do mattresses still provide the same support from edge to edge when the human body doesn’t apply pressure uniformly? Why has innovation become synonymous with adding gadgets instead of improving the fundamentals of sleep? Circadia is really the outcome of asking those questions,” Bhanourwala shares. Growing up within the business, she learnt early that a mattress should be made to perform, not simply to sell—a philosophy reflected in everything from the quality of materials, including those hidden beneath the surface, to the importance of offering considered, honest recommendations. What distinguishes Foam Home is its decision to look beyond the noise—grounding its approach instead in a deep understanding of the individual and the way each person sleeps.

Driven by a passion for experimentation, research, and meticulous attention to detail, Bhanpurawala aims to bridge the gap between comfort and innovation. “To me, comfort is not the sensation you experience for the first five minutes in a showroom. It’s how you feel the next morning—and years later,” shares Bhanpurwala. It influences how we gather, work, unwind, and, perhaps most importantly, how we rest.

There is something deeply emotional about sleep. It is the comfort of returning to your own bed after a long journey, the familiarity of a favourite pillow, and the quiet reassurance of a mattress that feels perfectly lived in. At the heart of Circadia lies ErgoShell, the brand’s mattress technology developed through years of research and product refinement. Every mattress is thoughtfully engineered to provide support, effective pressure relief, and lasting comfort while meeting the evolving expectations of today’s discerning consumers. Circadia drew from this understanding, recognising that the most meaningful forms of comfort could not be created overnight. “Our role is to simplify that complexity and continue building products that are scientifically thoughtful, beautifully crafted and genuinely relevant to the way people live today,” muses Bhanpurawala.

Circadia’s story is ultimately one of evolution rather than reinvention—a continuation of Foam Home’s legacy, shaped by a new generation and informed by a deeper understanding of how we live, rest and recover. Across two generations, the brand remains committed to refining rather than reinventing its purpose, allowing research, craftsmanship and thoughtful design to guide its next chapter. For Sabina Bhanpurwala, this means carrying forward the values she has inherited while remaining curious enough to question what has long been considered standard. It is this balance between experience and enquiry that gives Circadia its character: a brand deeply rooted in its past, yet unafraid to rethink the familiar.
