We may not be able to attend our favourite stars’ or industrialists’ grand weddings, but thanks to social media, we sure can get a glimpse of their parties. A fortnight ago, in the city of Jamnagar, the Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant pre-wedding festivities unfolded with a mesmerising floral spectacle—‘An Evening in Everland.’ Mukesh and Nita Ambani invited over a thousand guests for the extravagant engagement celebrations. The guest list included Bollywood celebrities and top industrialists from India and abroad.
Interflora India, a brand specialising in high-end floral decorations collaborated with Jeff Leatham and Manish Malhotra to design the awe-inspiring backdrop for the first night of the celebrations. Exotic flowers, striking vases, and one-of-a-kind decor pieces were sourced from across the world and transported to Jamnagar for the celebrations.
Interflora India has been instrumental in conceptualising the floral decor for several stars’ celebrations, including Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s nuptials, Karan Johar’s much-talked-about 50th birthday party, and most recently, Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani wedding in Goa. Jeff Leatham is a world-renowned floral designer well-loved for his over-the-top and luxurious floral creations. He’s often called upon to design floral arrangements for high-profile events and celebrity weddings. Manish Malhotra is a leading Indian fashion designer who has dominated Bollywood costume design for three decades. He’s known for his glamorous and contemporary style, which is a modern interpretation of traditional Indian crafts.
Evocative Of A French Conservatory
The design brief for ‘An Evening in Everland’ was simple—to craft a florally opulent glass house decorated with visually arresting organic flowers. The theme was ‘World meets Indian heritage.’ This was translated into a regal glass house that was evocative of a French conservatory. As guests strolled through the driveway, nature’s beauty greeted them via a majestic entrance, well-manicured gardens, water features, and tapestries of massive elephants and giraffes, leading to a captivating glasshouse adorned with beautiful florals. Grandiose blue delphinium urns became eye-catching elements that served as an extension to the ‘larger than life’ theme starting from the grand entrance.
Inside the glasshouse, guests were welcomed by an opulent living room that meets an inviting courtyard vibe. It gave the impression of being transported to a sumptuous home in the French countryside. Installations of pastel-hued roses and foliage descending from the ceilings greeted guests as they walked into an expansive space evocative of a well-appointed mansion. The floral decor of the party embodied the grandeur and magnificence synonymous with the Ambani family. Family portraits, quaint fireplaces, comfortable seating, and charming bookshelves decorated the corners and walls, crafting intimate spaces for unforgettable connections.
The floral decorations were accompanied by thoughtfully curated decor pieces to craft an aesthetically pleasing backdrop for the festivities. The decor showcased a rich, vintage vibe, with a play of hues, comprising touches of pink shades, lilacs, orange, and yellows. A 100-foot-long grazing table adorned with massive floral urns reaching the ceiling was breathtaking. Vintage Venetian vases, cantaloupe flowers, elegant props, candles, delectable food, and a show-stopping three-tier grand cake transported guests to a bygone era.
A central water fountain was the focal point for animated conversations. The decor featured India-inspired furnishings and floral arrangements comprising flowers and foliage from Interflora India. The whole idea behind the event was to create a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere, reminiscent of Indian culture. Even amidst grandeur, small perfume bottles and knick-knacks adorned the space, infusing a warm and inviting vibe. The inspiration of the glass house, embodying ‘world meets Indian heritage,’ resonated throughout the event, creating an enchanting experience that celebrated both global elegance and traditional Indian charm.
